Why people switch to SVGFormat

Free downloads, no watermark

Every format, every time. Other vectorizers charge per file once you've seen the preview.

Nothing is uploaded

The tracing runs in your browser. Client logos and private images never leave your device.

No signup, no limits

No account, no credits, no daily cap. Convert as many images as you like.

Commercial use is fine

Files you convert are yours to use on products you sell and client work, as long as you own the picture.

How it works

  1. 01

    Drop your image

PNG, JPG, WEBP, GIF or BMP. It's converted on your device, not uploaded.

  2. 02

    Pick what it is

Logo, illustration, line art, black & white or photo. Adjust the colours and remove the background.

  3. 03

    Download

SVG, PDF, EPS, DXF or a big PNG, and PES or DST for embroidery.

What actually happens when you convert an image

A PNG is made of pixels, so it goes blurry and jagged when you make it bigger, and cutting machines can't follow its edges. An SVG is made of shapes, so it stays sharp at any size and every outline is a path a Cricut, Silhouette or laser can cut.

This converter traces your PNG into real vector shapes, one colour at a time. It keeps shared edges exact, so neighbouring shapes never overlap or leave gaps, and it handles small, blurry logos well: the soft edges are cleaned up rather than traced as fuzz.

That's why the picture you start from matters more than any setting. A clean logo at a reasonable size converts beautifully; a screenshot of a screenshot gives the tracer less to work with.

Every format you need, from one conversion

The same result downloads as whatever your machine, printer or app reads, free: a cutter wants SVG or DXF, a press asks for PDF, EPS or AI, and an embroidery machine needs stitches, which is a second job on top of the trace.

Tips for the best result

Pick what it is

Choose Logo for flat artwork, Illustration for drawings, Black & white for single-colour cut files, Photo for a poster look. Each one traces differently.

Fewer colours, cleaner cuts

For Cricut and vinyl, set the colours to the number of vinyl colours you'll use. Each colour becomes its own layer.

Remove the background

Turn on Remove background to drop the white box behind your design, so only the shapes are left.

Start from the biggest PNG you have

More pixels give the tracer more to work with. Tiny thumbnails still work, but a larger original gives smoother curves.

Questions

How do I convert a PNG to SVG?

Drop your PNG in the box at the top of this page, or paste it with Ctrl+V. The SVG appears in a second or two. Drag the slider to compare it with the original, then download. Nothing to install, and it works on a phone.

Is it really free?

Yes. Downloads are free in every format, with no watermark, no signup and no daily limit. It can be: the conversion runs in your browser, so it costs us almost nothing to serve.

Will converting make a blurry image sharp?

Mostly. Edges are redrawn as clean shapes, so a soft, small logo comes back crisp at any size. Detail that isn't in the picture can't be invented, though: around 500 px on the long side is a good minimum, and below about 100 px small details start to merge.

Is it as good as Image Trace in Illustrator?

For logos, icons and clipart, the result is comparable and needs less tidying: shapes share their edges exactly, so there are no hairline gaps or overlaps, and specks are merged into their neighbours. Illustrator gives you more manual control afterwards.

Will the SVG work in Cricut Design Space?

Yes. Download the SVG and upload it in Design Space. Each colour comes in as its own layer, ready to cut, and removing the background first saves you deleting it later.

Can I convert a photo to SVG?

Yes, choose Photo. You'll get a poster-style vector with flat colour areas. Photos never trace as cleanly as logos, because they have no hard edges.

Can I use the files commercially?

Yes. The files are yours to use, on products you sell and in client work, as long as you have the rights to the picture you converted.

What if the result isn't good enough?

Try another style (Logo, Illustration, Line art), set the number of colours yourself, or start from a larger original. For artwork with gradients, tiny text or photos, a designer redrawing it by hand will still do better.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Your browser does the conversion on your own device, so the file never reaches our server. That also makes it fast: there's no upload or download wait.
